What is a Home-School Compact?
- An agreement the families, students, and teachers develop together.
- It explains how GBE and our families will work together to make sue all students reach grade level standards.

- Reading Specialists and Paraprofessionals for small group instruction
- Professional learning opportunities for teachers
- Additional technology resources for students learning
- Family engagement events
- Curriculum supplements

Family Engagement
Getting families involved at GBE
Gene Brown's Title I program hosts free family events throughout the year. Students, families and teachers can share in engaging learning experiences. These family engagement events enhance the collaborative, friendly culture of GBE.

As Families we will:
- Read together for 20 minutes each day
- Talk about the school day and what he/she is learning
- Attend parent-teacher conferences
- Attend school events
- Communicate with teachers
As A School We Will:
- Ensure a warm, welcoming environment
- Provide high quality ELA and math instruction
- Monitor individual student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Provide intervention based on individual student needs
- Communicate frequently with families
- Foster a culture of readers and mathematicians
As Students We Will:
- Attend school every day
- Respect ourselves and others
- Live "above the line"
- Follow the 8 keys of excellence
- Read 20 minutes each day
