Gene W. Brown Elementary

Hi! My name is Megan Jamison, and I am a proud Fourth Grade teacher at Gene Brown Elementary. I have spent ten years in education - two years serving as a fifth grade teacher, two years as a Literacy Coach, five years in second grade, and now fourth! I am a firm believer in the power of reading - reading quality texts around specific content, reading to practice skills, and reading for FUN! I also believe in the importance of experience. I try my best to bring these two ideas together to create an enriching, engaging, and enjoyable classroom.

I am originally from Coalmont, TN, but I have made Hendersonville my home for the past eight years with my husband, Steven, and our dog, Walter. I love it here! I enjoy traveling, yoga, spending time with family and friends, and Tennessee Titans football. But without a doubt, I can say that my favorite pastime and passion is education.
