Welcome to Gene W. Brown Elementary School!
Gene W. Brown Elementary is located in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Built in 1956 as Hendersonville Elementary School, the school began its educational traditions under the leadership of the principal, Mr. Jack Anderson. Today, Gene Brown is home to approximately 450 students and 35 teachers.
The faculty and staff at Gene Brown Elementary strive to create opportunities for all students to create lifelong memories. Some of the highlights of the 2019-2020 school year include the 3rd-5th grade students' musical production of Annie Kids, monthly "Wheels in Motion" bike giveaways sponsored by the Hendersonville Rotary Club, family nights, and many school dances. We also recently opened up our new addition to our building and finished up renovations to the rest of the school as well as added new playground equipment to our playground and a basketball court.
Students in upper grades at Gene Brown Elementary have numerous opportunities for extra curricular activities. These include the Art Club, Bobcat Singers Choir, National Junior Honor Society, and Student Council. We also have a talent show every year that students from all grade levels can be a part of. At GBE, we learn about and discuss the 8 Keys of Excellence: Building Character. These 8 keys are, Integrity, Failure Leads to Success, Speak With Good Purpose, This Is It!, Commitment, Ownership, Flexibility, and Balance. Each month, we focus on a specific key and we learn about what it means to show that character trait.
The teachers and staff members at Gene Brown are involved in numerous learning opportunities around the county in order to provide the best and most current learning environment for our students.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our GBE family! We are looking forward to a wonderful new school year and we can't wait to see our students back in school!
