GBE Families and Friends, please join us this Sunday, May 20, as we honor three of our wonderful teachers---Mrs. Maynor, Ms. Christian, Mrs. Wright---as they begin their retirement years.  You may drop by the GBE gym between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. to share your well wishes.

May 9    Career Day

May 10   Second Grade Title I Meeting (5:00-6:00)---The first 25 families to register for the meeting will receive summer reading goodies!

May 11   K, 1, 2 Field Day---Starts at 9:00.  Please send a towel with your child for seating while watching some events.  A letter was sent home on May 2 with information.

May 11-18   Spring Book Fair---Buy one book; get one free.  The Book Fair will be open to parents from 5:30-7:30 on May 17.

May 14   Spring Luncheon for families of Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Fourth Grade students.  A letter addressing the purchase of tickets was sent home on May 2.  We will have a time schedule available to teachers on May 7.  Times follow:

Pursuant to a request by SCS School Nutrition manager, please note that the cafeteria will not be able to accept checks or charges after May 10, 2012.

    Our School Board has issued a policy that allows only family members to visit students at lunch in the Cafeteria.  Please be mindful of this when coming to have lunch with a child.

     Parents or Guardians picking up students from GBE must present a valid photo identification and be listed on the registration form.  This policy is in place to keep our students safe and most parents/guardians happy. 

    Parents and Guardians, please be certain that we have a valid phone number on file for you.  We do SchoolCast phone calls often that give you information about school events and special opportunities that you and your child could receive.  However, when we find the phone number is no longer valid, then you miss out on this valuable information.  Also, if your child were to get hurt at school, then we would have no way of contacting you to let you know.  Once again, please send us new phone numbers any time your number changes.
